1. Routing by booking order instead of geography
The classic: Monday's jobs are scheduled in the order customers called, so the truck crosses town four times. Booking order is random; geography is not. Fix it with day-zones — north side Mondays and Thursdays, south side Tuesdays and Fridays, or whatever fits your map. Offer customers slots within their zone days first. Most take them, and your windshield hours drop immediately.
2. Zero buffer between jobs
If job A is booked 8-10 and job B starts at 10, you have scheduled a guaranteed failure: nobody teleports. 5. No held slot for same-day work
Emergencies are not surprises; their timing is. A board booked to 100% has no way to absorb the burst pipe that will definitely be called in by someone this week. Hold one slot per truck per day. 6. Confirmations that don't happen
